Umbro - Global Conference, Cape Town.

Brief

To cut costs by using local talent to showcase Umbro's 2006 world cup apparel and launch Umbro's US urban market driven 'Black Leopards' range and Brazilian beach soccer and beachwear. Umbro asked Beyond to commission a piece of music to represent the 'One Love' theme of the conference.

Solution

Creative Director Steve Agyei sourced and trained local South African talent and integrated them with a core skeleton crew of English based talent. Steve Agyei and a Beyond engineer mixed Bob Marley's 'One Love' and Justin Timberlake's 'Senorita', to provide the theme for the 'One Love' conference.

Result

Agyei's brilliant use of the 'Black Leopards' chanted vocals and clapping rhythms intertwined with elaborate warm-up style choreography brought the South African local and tribal dignitaries to tears. This moving display captured the 'One Love' message beautifully and installed it firmly into the psyche of the Umbro conference delegates.
